This year there are 27 teams competing in the 2026 National 12 Bell Competition.
On 28th March the SCY band rang at a Qualifier at Cornhill in London on bells noticeably heavier than our own bells. In total 26 teams appeared across the 4 qualifier locations (Cornhill, nearby Bow Church and Leicester and Nottingham).
Drawn to ring last we came 2nd to the experienced local band from St Pauls Cathedral beating bands from Chester, Southwark, Norwich and Reading
This excellent result means we go on to compete in the final at York Minster on June 20th where the 8 finalists are Ancient Society of College Youths, Birmingham, Bristol, Cambridge Youths, Guildford, Leeds Minster, St Paul’s Cathedral, Society of Royal Cumberland Youths and the hosts York Minster will compete for he coveted Taylor Trophy.
